she/her, 40 Ghost, Yellowjackets, Sleep Token, LOTR, witchy vibes, horror, animals, existential dread. Liberal af. 'Why did you dig me up for this?'

We were supposed to meet the four hobbits on our wedding anniversary in 2020 and then (REDACTED). This year they again are coming to Fan Expo Boston on our 18th wedding anniversary and friends, I could cry at how much this means to me to finally get our Long Expected Meetup.

Due to giving myself shingles at 40 from sheer stress, I have made it abundantly clear at work that I am fully disconnected and unavailable this week for my PTO, for the first time in 4 years. The weight off my shoulders is IMMENSE. I wish it hadn't taken possible facial scarring to get here.

Is it weird to be going through some sort of grief about trading in my 13 year old car today? I love this car but she's got 213k miles and the amount of work she needs doesn't make sense. I test drove this car while adjusting the seat for my 9 month pregnant belly. RIP to my sweet Kia Soul 🥺💔

I reached out to my favorite Ghost artist to ask if I could use one of her designs on my birthday cake, and she responded by saying she would draw me a custom birthday piece! This fandom can get crazy, but there is so much good 😭

It is genuinely so goddamn fun having raised cosplay kids into their teens. We go to cons together and meet up for various things, but they have their own fandoms/cosplay ideas and their separate events and groups to see. Proud parent right here.

Hey friends happy Tuesday!! You don’t need to compare yourself to anyone because you’re awesome the way you are! It’s easy to look at what others can do and compare your abilities to them, but you offer things to this world that are so needed! You are loved always ❤️❤️

How stressed am I? HOW STRESSED?! I gave myself FACE SHINGLES. Dude, I am only 40. Had to pick up my meds while CVS blared scare ads about shingles to convince the elderly to vaccinate. 😭 This sucks. My face is on fire and I look awful. My doctor looked at me with a mix of horror and pity.

The polar opposite reactions here to the deaths of Sam Neill and Lindsey Graham are such a reminder that we all have a choice whether to live our lives in a way that brings joy or misery to those around us. I think if you’re remembered fondly as Sam Neill is today, you’ve pretty much won at life.

So much of my life trajectory has been because of Sam Neill's portrayal of Alan Grant. My love of my favorite hobby, cosplay, my interest in science (specifically R&D), my eventual career move to genetics research. His ability to show such skeptical awe and gruff delight. This is a rough one.

UPDATE: who just canceled their date night to make Doctor Who themed cocktails and binge the show? Ya know, I worried a bit on joining such an immersive fandom so late, knowing I'd hyperfixate and fandoms can be mean, but I love how everyone so far is just psyched for us.
