I find the best things when I clean my office. I totally forgot I had these. A set of #EmailGeek magnets I picked up earlier this year at Deliverability Summit in Barcelona.

I missed it (due to reasons) last week but EmailKarma.net turned 19 on July 7th. I just wish I had more time to write these days, even with all the evergreen content. Where did I put that RoundToIt again?

🇨🇦's #BillC22 is entering committee study this week - and we're hearing it may become law by end of the month. We never say this: but this is the worst, most privacy-breaking bill we've seen. It MUST be stopped. Speak up against it and read on to learn more: www.openmedia.org/StopC22-bsky 1/
Stop the Surveillance State: Stop Bill C-22!
🚨 Bill C-22 forces every Canadian internet provider, messaging app & cloud service to build surveillance backdoors and store a year of your data. Foreign state hackers exploited similar legislation in...

DMARC has officially become an Internet Standard. The new standards, often called #DMARCbis, retire several legacy tags, add new options, and replace Public Suffix List (PSL) lookups. I put together a practical guide on what to review in your DMARC records: buff.ly/bsMHV1C #EmailGeeks
Google’s new ‘AI inbox’ was enabled at work, turning it off was the easiest decision I made all day. Why can’t these features be optin vs just enabling then. (And yes I understand the idea most people just leave the defaults on). Settings > Inbox > way at the bottom is the disable option.
CAN-SPAM says you can email people who haven't asked. GDPR, PECR, CASL, and Australia's Spam Act say you can't. The gap isn't a technicality — it's a philosophical divide about what privacy is. New post: https://www.spamtacular.com/?p=4311 #emailmarketing #privacy #GDPR
Your US Email Compliance Assumptions Are Wrong Outside the US
The United States treats commercial email as opt-out by default, an approach that puts it at odds with email marketing laws outside the US. You may email someone who hasn’t asked for it, and CAN-SPAM permits that as long as you identify yourself, include a physical address, and honor unsubscribe requests. That framework has shaped […]

The stupidity of people at an airport queue never ceases to amaze me. If your in the zone the line is here if your in that zone stand there. Some people seem totally confused by this idea. #travel
Odd things to debate on stage at a marketing conference. Pineapple on pizza. Room feels a little split on the topic. #TeamPineapple #TeamNoPineapple
Took me slightly longer than expected to fix - mostly due to jet lag and sleep deprivation - but we are all good now. Should be fixed for the foreseeable future.
I’m aware my sites SSL cert expired overnight. Thanks all that have messaged me about it. I can’t fix it until tomorrow at the earliest 😅

Feel like I adulated well last night. Filed my taxes 2 weeks early vs the night before the deadline. No stress, no worries about server loads and proper submissions times. or trying to print and get it in the post before the deadline.
I got told I look like Dave Grohl tonight. That’s a first for me. Even funnier we are at a Nirvana / Hole cover night.
@cira.ca Your new portal process - feels half baked: 1 - Sends emails that looks like phishing. No aligned authentication. (Wicketcloud[.]com v cira[.]ca) 2 - Emails with unbranded links 3 - Missing postal address (CASL) in emails 4 - Leads to non-CIRA branded login page #Security101 #EmaiIsHard
