@herring1967.bsky.social listening to the podcast and, again, hope all is ok. As much as possible.
Yes, I really would say that the optimal time to stack shelves for the lone staff member in a Tesco near a train station where they've closed all the self-service tills is just before 8am on a weekday. Bonus if there's a load of kids dancing in front of you, preventing your exit.
I remember coming out of bed and my mum and dad were watching a horror film and the soundtrack was The Air That I Breathe by The Hollies. I was convinced that it was Invasion of the Bodysnatchers but have googled and it is not and I have no idea. I find the song creepy to this day.
In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?
Forgot to get any breakfast so I suppose it's ratatouille on toast.
I do like it when my Hanley/Buxton/Maron/Theroux/Herring podcasts cross over. Which they do more often than you'd think.
Delighted to report I now know what you're all on about with these hot flushes waking you up 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Was lucky that I was there when this was recorded..it's a good one!
Recorded live at Futures and Pasts, this special episode sees Paul and Steve joined by the Poet Laureate himself, Simon Armitage, who looks back on discovering The Fall as a teenager, his early gigs, and what it is about Mark E. Smith's lyrics that captivates so many writers. (+)
I have to say again, the pizzas in The Moorbrook in Preston are so very delicious.
Preston, Chorley, Lancaster, Bolton for a day out? Clue: not Bolton.
I do not know if I am a hoarder, but I do consider this to be a holiday souvenir.
Ok, so this is annoying and baffling. Trying to log into my Virgin account but verifying my address keeps leading me to my doctor's website. If they send me a text to verify, it comes from my doctor's phone number????
Just been vehemently shouted at by a beautiful black cat as it started to pour down. I think it was saying "let me in" but there was a bit of a language barrier so I'm not sure.....
Got a new telly after 20 years. What happened to a telly you can plug in and off you go? And why does it need my credit card details?
Nothing predicted the future of the internet more accurately than Nathan Barley.
1/4 way into a two week holiday from work and I'm already panicking about going back.
I don't think that the fact you only see spiders when they're horny makes me feel any more comfortable with them. Big Spider Season has arrived early.
I think the fatal mistake is taking the coffee back to bed. Best laid plans and that. You get back in bed, the cat climbs on top of you and then it's 3pm.
