Okay… my 8.5 year old niece has really important things to say about friendship and the environment.

It felt incredible to stand with faculty and students on the quad for a Nakba Day rally today. We grieved the dead and reaffirmed our commitment to fight for justice. I am so proud of what students and faculty have built here.

I am glad I still weep every time I have to do this. I hope I never lose that. I hope I never become callous enough to not see every digit as the loss of a lifeworld, an infinite arc of possibility of which we were all robbed.

Every couple of weeks I speak or write about Palestine, and I have to go through and update the counts of the dead and wounded and destroyed. A personal archive of destruction through my own writing and speeches. The horror of deleting numbers and adding more, martyrs as digits. I'll never forgive.
