En anders geformuleerd door CdG in haar column “zonder gemeenschappelijk doel offert niemand zich op om moed te tonen en het goede te doen”. Helemaal mee eens. Vraagt wel van ons om het goede ook te kunnen onderscheiden. Hier betreden we volgens mij dan het terrein van religie.

Opnieuw een zware raketaanval vannacht, voornamelijk gericht op Kyiv. Oekraïne kon slechts één van de 27 ballistische raketten afstoppen, simpelweg door een tekort aan Patriot luchtafweerraketten.
Spanje staat onder grote druk door de duizenden in Ceuta. Tientallen mensen zijn om het leven gekomen. Dus roept de VVD op tot ‘maximale druk’ en ‘opschorten Schengen’. Spanje bewaakt daar de Europese buitengrens. Die is van ons allemaal. Het antwoord is het omgekeerde: Europese steun ter plaatse.

I did 5 years of Latin (5 periods per week) and 4 years of Greek (ditto), grade 8-12. Plus all the sciences, math and 3 modern languages. After that, university was a breeze. I’m not saying it was perfect, but it worked for me and many others.
