TDS (Trans Derangement Syndrome) is a mental illness where cisgender people become obsessed about trans people's genitals and can't mind their own business. Sadly, the only treatment involves listening to trans people without judgment. To date, no one has ever been cured.

It wasn't a bad take. It was gentle criticism from a trans woman, and valid, and she's the one paying the price for it. Please listen to trans people, and no, I'm not talking about whatever pick me trans friend who told you that publicly supporting transphobic media without reflection is a-ok.

This may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.

I had my 1 week post FFS follow up today. I got my stitches out, and was given my date for stage 2 FFS, in November. That will make all 4 affirming surgeries covered by my insurance in the same calendar year. Bottom surgery in March, top surgery in May, stage 1 FFS in July, & stage 2 in November.

I just had my first non-liquid meal since last Monday, and it was everything I needed it to be. I'm glad I did ffs, but recovery from it is a pain in the ass. And jaw. And skull.

3 days post op now, and I feel like I have a valid piece of ffs advice: unless you have serious dysphoria specific to your chin/jaw, don't get them reduced. The liquid diet is the worst part of recovery so far. I did have that specific dysphoria, and 2 more days of protein shakes I can handle.

My ride home now showed on me post ffs.

I'm up and out of bed at 4:30AM because I'm getting ffs today and I have a 6:45 check in time at the hospital which is 65 miles from here. I wish transphobia weren't so pervasive, so we could still make jokes about random discomforts being transphobia, because this feels fucked up.

Why am I more nervous about ffs than I was about bottom surgery?

Lol. Say it, sis. I am having my third surgery in 48 hours, and probably my 4th in September. Complete rebuild.

expanding on this: something i am going to make a very active effort about for the rest of 2026 is actually investing in myself. in many ways i feel like 2025 was me learning how to prioritize myself while 2026 has been trying to put that to practice. i feel like many are also having a rebuild year.
