If you are in New York, the MET Cloisters is displaying this huge Be’ena’a (Zapotec) sculpture of Tzinacantecuhtli, the Bat Lord. In Mesoamerican myth, bats were believed to be able to travel both heavenly and earthly realms. This sculpture is on loan from the Museo del Templo Mayor until October 18

Tzinacantecuhtli (Bat Lord). A hybrid being that combines an upright man with a bat’s claws and head, including large ears and a leaf-shaped nose. Here, the figure wears a loincloth, ruff, and necklace of three bells with clappers shaped like bones. Zapotec (Be'ena'a) (800–900)

there's no excuse for using AI to do random things. no excuse for using AI platforms to do stuff that an artist could do instead. the harm done is simply too great. soon we may have "data centers" here in DK though the people are trying to prevent it.
