I keep seeing/hearing people say that there aren't any open-science and meta-research events. Collecting and curating these the past month has shown me there is a LOT going on, just maybe difficult to keep track. See screenshots, take your pick. Metaventory can help: metaventory.vercel.app/events

One of the major pains of academia is having to click through labyrinths of webpages to submit papers. Now, thanks to Joe Rich (and AI), problem solved! His tool is called PaperPush and is available at github.com/pachterlab/p... It's super easy to use! 1/🧵

Legitimate scathing critique of power posing claims like it’s 2015. Now with GenAI made up stuff. Chefs kiss.

Autonomous AI agents are now built into many browsers. A naive user can take an online survey with as little as the click of a button. For behavioral research, which depends heavily on online samples, this is a real problem. (1/7)
I spent the past semester building interactive teaching apps with AI-assisted coding. I used my personal website to share them with my students, but that makes them hard to find for other educators. So I built Galvoro — galvoro.app

One thing I keep seeing again and again is how all the democratization claims of social media are falling apart and how the whole system seems to be a successful example of minority influence for the worst of humanity’s qualities.
An analysis of over 14 million social media posts from accounts in Canada found that 87% of conspiratorial claims come from just 100 influencers. This minority of users impacts politics, influencing what people view as normal and leads to self-censoring to avoid attacks from conspiracy theorists.
Remember that brief period in time when everyone’s presentations had those hyper realistic cartoon AI generated pictures of people working in libraries of Babel.
