Today, we remember all those who have lost their lives to HIV-AIDS. On World AIDS Day 2025, our Labour government is launching a new HIV Action Plan, backed by £170m of funding. We will end new HIV transmissions by 2030.

It was good to meet with Minister Timms again this morning to discuss the Govt’s plans for an asbestos census. ⚠️📜 I’m pleased to say that the Minister is hopeful that an effective census of asbestos prevalence in public buildings will be in place by next September. @mesouk.bsky.social

After my petition supported by constituents forced ST Council to stop the spread of new HMOs, today I asked the Secretary of State about the Govt's plans to deal with the saturation of existing HMOs in South Shields. Licensing needs urgent reform so we can close down badly run HMOs 🏘️
