Liverpool til I die. Tory hater. Fool despiser. Gobshite, & sometimes amusing. I swear a lot, & I'm very opinionated. Probably not a good idea to tell me what I can post 👍 Hate writing bio's.

We were never going to tick every box & fill every hole with the perfect profile in our squad this summer. It was unrealistic to expect that. But, Barcola, Mbaye, Munoz, Jacquet, & the mythical CB/RB gives us a more balanced, & certainly more dynamic edge. Not perfect no, but nothing ever is.

I think I’d be content to go into the season with Barcola, Mbaye, & a CB who cosplays as a RB, too. Other stuff will surely happen in regard to departures, & that might facilitate further moves, but essentially, I’d be happy enough with those 3, although the CF situation is a major concern.

“Weighing up” “pondering” “assessing” “considering” “contemplating” “ruminating” Have I missed any transfer lingo bingo words out? Probably 😂

Lolling at the cynicism of Liverpool firing out PR props on Leoni, whilst simultaneously briefing on signing defenders not being a priority. North Korean/Fox levels 👌🏻

Btw, I don’t think Gakpo is a bad player; far from it. And he’s a lovely guy, too. But, Barcola was the guy (along with Kvaratskhelia) who were the only two players I would’ve sold Diaz for as a LW. I think Barcola has the ability to become special under the right coach, & in the right environment.

The way I look at the Barcola fee is that it’s an equation of (whatever we get off Spurs for Gakpo + whatever cash we pay), so it could be something like £60m + Gakpo for Barcola. I’m dealing at that, you can be certain.

The difference in fee between Liverpool & PSG over Barcola is worrying, I must admit. You have to wonder if a compromise can be found when the two clubs are so far apart.

In isolation & under Iraola, I would like our options out wide if we got both Barcola & Mbaye, as well as having Rio & Vic, though. There’s a lot of pace, directness, & movement, there. There’s a lot of potential for growth & improvement there, too. I can see that being fun.

Once we finally make a move & actual bids for Barcola & Mbaye, if we ever do, & those bids lead to the players actually signing, I might even give a small cheer.

I will settle down over transfer when, & only when, we buy defenders. No point having the front end of a Ferrari & the back end of a banged up Lada from the 70’s.

Interesting to note that in Bruno Guimarães, Arsenal have further upped their duel winning, foul winning quota. He’s the type of midfielder Liverpool need, but would never buy, but he is such an Arteta player.
