The media blitz & outsized police response to the United Healthcare CEO assassination is nagging at me. Other victims don't get this level of attention or police response. What makes this guy's life more valuable than theirs?

Why Does No One Understand the Real Reason Trump Won?
It wasn’t the economy. It wasn’t inflation, or anything else. It was how people perceive those things, which points to one overpowering answer.

Octavia Butler being a time traveler or seer, will forever be a hill I'm willing to die on, because there's just no way. Parable of The Sower was published in 1993. Look at this date. #BlackBookSky #BookSky
Periodic reminder that not all activism takes place online in casual and exposed places where you can observe and judge it. Before you decide someone isn't loud enough about a Thing, consider whether they've gone to ground to get the work done. Consider doing the same.
I'm not saying Don't Recycle I'm saying we need to remove the social/commercial license from these people, block them from policymaking arenas And we need to stop them selling a proposed solution (Recycle!) that is orders of magnitude too small to fix a problem they created (forever production)
The People Who Make The Things You Buy with the justification that you can recycle those things are making 1000x more of those things than you could ever recycle, and at some point I think we should ask why They think that's OK www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Feels like a good morning to tell Bluesky the story about when I overdosed on my underwear, so let’s do this! 🧵
Hi @safety.bsky.app I’ve been a woman on the internet for a long time so I promise not to complain about every nasty, mean-spirited, and inaccurate list I’ve been put on but this guy put me on a “rape list” and I’d like him to be booted into the sun if possible. Thx!
this happened again today just interviewed the COO of a cooperative in North Carolina that is bringing gigabit fiber for $80 a month to long-unserved rural communities thanks to ARPA legislation those communities turned around and voted out the folks that made it happen
every single week I talk to a different municipality or cooperative that is using American Rescue Plan Act funds to deploy amazing cheap broadband to rural markets that rewarded the people that wrote and passed the legislation by kicking them out of office
