Breaking my sabbatical once again, but this time it’s because I have some genuinely useful things to share. For those on Apple’s ecosystem (iOS, iPadOS, macOS etc.) I have created a few Shortcuts; these were initially made for myself but I think others will find useful as well.

I am going to break my social media sabbatical just this once so I can properly and publicly address your post here.

“Fuck white people”
“Death to all white people”

This was more or less what I had posted (I can’t remember the exact wording because, again, I deleted them so quickly afterward), and which I very quickly realised went way too far; it was an act done from a momentarily slip of judgement that resulted from a fit of anger. Even now I’m genuinely sorry for posting those abhorrent messages, and I’m truly sorry to anyone who saw and/or took offence at it. These are words that should have never been said, for any reason, period, and I make no excuses for it.

Once I realised my mistake, I very quickly course-corrected: I immediately deleted the offending messages, and apologised for posting them. But instead of accepting my apology, your friends still saw it fit to punish me harshly for it, by removing me from the Discord channel with no way for me to appeal against my punishment, and by ostracising me for it.

I am not trying to hide anything here; the screencaps I provided didn’t show the messages because they were taken long after I have already deleted the messages myself and apologised for them.

The fact that you and your friends were still able to see them, well after I have already deleted the messages, implies that the Discord server had a logging system separate from Discord’s own that is able to record and log messages even after they have been deleted. If this is the case, I ask that your friends show the original, unedited logs for the world to see, to show that no one – not me, not you, and not your friends – have anything to hide.

This whole fiasco has devastated my mental health to the point of near-suicide; it was only with emergency intervention that I am still sitting here able to write this reply out to you. This, along with how toxic social media has become for my mental health in general, as well as my decline in physical health, is what led me to take a sabbatical from social media to focus on my health, for at least the next 3-6 months – perhaps longer.

Whether you and your friends choose to trust or believe me or not, is up to you. I have done what I could here, and I know I have not left the best impression upon you. I hope that one day, well after I have improved myself, that you and your friends are still able to forgive me for all I did.

If not though, then it’s fine: at this point in my life I have unfortunately accepted that, no matter what I do, no one will ever forgive me for anything regardless of how much effort I put into making amends for, while simultaneously also being the one that’s always forced to forgive everyone else for every transgression they have done against me big and small, regardless of the sincerity of their apologies or even if they never apologised for it. That’s the way the universe wants my life to be, and I have decided to just accept fate instead of trying to fight back anymore.

Ps. It took me one week to respond to your message here as:
1. your message was lost in the chaos of what happened back then; I only came across it as I was deleting and cleaning up my Bluesky posts as part of damage control in the immediate aftermath of everything that happened, and
2. the new dosage of meds my psychiatrist has prescribed me has been giving me all kinds of fun side effects that prevented me from sitting down to properly reply to you.

For context, this was the thing that originally drove me to the fit of anger in the first place, and which I originally saw posted on my Facebook feed.
