Our caucus members are fighting for an affordable America. And our members recognize our economy is strongest when everyone can participate in it without fear of discrimination. Our fight for equality is also a fight to ensure everyone can live the American dream.

Equality means everyone gets to live the American Dream.

Earlier this month, the Trump Admin officially rescinded a rule that required child welfare agencies to ensure LGBTQI+ children had access to safe, affirming placements that were properly prepared to meet their needs. This is beyond cruel.

It may be 2026, but the fight to defend marriage equality isn't over in Congress. The GOP added provisions to 8 FY27 gov't funding bills that would enable discrimination against same-sex couples. We blocked these riders last year, and we're fighting hard to block them again.

The fight to defend marriage equality continues in Congress. Republicans have added license to discriminate provisions to eight government funding bills for FY27. These provisions would empower federal employees and government-funded contractors and grantees to discriminate against same-sex couples and other LGBTQI+ people.

Our hearts are with the LGBTQI+ community in Berlin, and their loved ones, following the attack at a Berlin Pride event this past weekend. We are committed to building a world where everyone can live as—and celebrate—their authentic selves without fear of violence.

Under Trump, our nation's veterans' care is constantly on the chopping block. Today is no different.   Ending the LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator program will make it harder for LGBTQ+ veterans to access the kind of culturally competent care they have earned.

🚨BAD BILL MOVING🚨 While we are able beat the GOP's attempt to codify the trans military ban on NDAA, they adopted 2 anti-LGBTQI+ amendments that endanger servicemembers' kids & restrict access to care. We're going to keep fighting to prevent these attacks from becoming law.

Equality Caucus celebrates defeat of trans military ban amendment, condemns passage of other anti-LGBTQI+ NDAA amendments“Republicans tried to codify Trump’s trans military ban into law, but my fellow members of the Congressional Equality Caucus and I put in countless hours of work in order to kill this amendment—and we were successful. I’m grateful for the bipartisan vote to defeat this discriminatory amendment. Nevertheless, Republicans were able to add two anti-LGBTQI+ amendments that endanger servicemembers’ children at DoDEA schools and restrict access to medically-necessary healthcare, including mental healthcare for servicemembers’ trans children. When Americans know they or their families are going to be targeted by or not supported by the military, that leads them to avoid signing up to serve or staying in the service—making it harder to keep the ranks of the armed services full and our nation safe. My colleagues in the Equality Caucus and I will continue working to prevent these attacks on our servicemembers and their families from becoming law.” Rep. Mark Takano, Chair of the Congressional

Republicans want to add three anti-LGBTQI+ amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act. CODIFYING TRUMP’S TRANS MILITARY BAN; TRANS HEALTHCARE BAN for transgender servicemembers and dependents, including banning mental healthcare for servicemembers’ trans children; EMPOWERING CHILD PREDATORS by subjecting DoDEA students who want to participate in athletics to invasive exams of their bodies to “prove” their genders.

🚨BAD NDAA AMENDMENT ADOPTED🚨 The House just adopted a Republican amendment to ban TRICARE from covering healthcare for trans troops & trans dependents, including mental healthcare for trans kids, which will cause real harm & lead troops to leave the service.

Republicans want to add three anti-LGBTQI+ amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act. Amendment #19: BANNING HEALTHCARE FOR TRANS SERVICEMEMBERS & MILITARY DEPENDENTS. This amendment prohibits TRICARE from covering or furnishing “gender-related medical treatment,” defined to include puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and surgeries for transgender people. It also amends the existing ban on TRICARE covering certain gender dysphoria treatments for people under 18 to also ban mental health care for transgender young people.

After this week, the House plans to leave DC for 5 WEEKS. Instead of solving any real problems facing Americans, the House GOP is pushing anti-LGBTQI+ bills & amendments to the NDAA. Nothing to lower gas prices. Nothing to make food safer. Nothing to make life more affordable.

Before a FIVE WEEK RECESS, the GOP is pushing three anti-LGBTQI+ bills & several anti-LGBTQI+ amendments to the NDAA instead of solutions for Americans. Nothing to lower gas prices. Nothing to make food safer. Nothing to make living more affordable. Americans deserve better.

Anti-equality Republicans were never going to stop at trans inclusion. The Heritage Foundation says Title IX is a "failed experiment" & women should stick with activities "more aligned with average female interests" like yoga. It's clear their target is Title IX and ALL women.
