Further on the same hand, the media just needs to make sensationalism stories more and more to lure people in, to get those eyeballs. That is a tried-and-true mainstream media tactic: do whatever works to get those eyeballs. It used to be "if it bleeds, it leads" but that doesn't always work.

For progressives/leftist candidates, every election is a “crucial test” and any loss would serve as proof to the media that the latest left-side moment is at its end. Any win, though, just means it’s time to find a new test.
Another question for the musing: who gets to decide what the prerequisites are for whether someone gets to shape public opinion or policy?

you could post this underneath so many people's takes on the scandals and the incompetence, and maybe they would learn or maybe the appeal of the so-called scandals and so-called incompetence is just too much to overcome for some people

I did have a glimmer of hope from this headline that Israel had arrested some settlers for causing violence. But no. Settlers went into an off limits place; 4 Palestinians were killed as well as 2 Israelis, then Israel arrested close to 100 Palestinians. They even did a huge raid on a hospital. 1/

In case people aren't noticing that the temperatures are going up as we're being boiled like frogs, i think the climate change thing is here now. It is always easy to ignore it in favour of other engaging activities though ... except when they get called off or abbreviated due to the climate thing.
