The issue isn’t “trust” at all, it’s media consolidation that allows a small number of wealthy oligarchs to manipulate the entire country’s politics to their benefit and to the detriment of everyone else

It’s a good sign that he feels like he has to lie. He’s absolutely full of it but it’s good that he feels like he has to do something other than blow the sun up Trump’s ass to get what he wants. bsky.app/profile/jeff...

Shameful: The #BrokenTimes hands David Ellison op-ed space rather than challenging his bullshit pap and propaganda about journalism with the receipts he has already delivered at CBS. That would be journalism. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/04/o...

The attempt to frame the Paramount-WBD merger as a political fight—like it’s all about CNN or Trump or something—is, in my view, an attempt to undermine the real problem: that consolidation will harm workers, raise prices for steaming and cable and sports during a cost of living crisis,👇

Everything else aside, I love how Trump is like “I didn’t endorse those senators and ended their careers cause they are terrible, how dare they not vote for my guy now!!”

It's noteworthy that the sticking point in getting Todd Blanche confirmed as AG involves financial corruption rather than Blanche refusing to release files about the sex trafficking of children by Trump's former friend. To Republicans, money is always more important than the welfare of children.

He has no idea “stand the pain” means people buying less groceries because of gas prices. So out of touch with the American people. It’s like Trump saying “so only buy one doll this year!” Kennedy is like “so only buy lunch this year! You don’t need dinner.”

Kennedy: "I don't think we ought to just cut and run. If we can stand the pain of the rising cost of energy, we need to stay the course at least for a few more months."

The WHCA goes on annually because it celebrates everything corporate media adores: money, fame, glamor, access, networking, marking oneself part of the in-group, being seen with celebrities, patting itself on the back. There'll never not be a dinner and it'll never not be a betrayal of journalism.

After insisting the correspondents' dinner was worth reviving, the WHCA handed Trump a nationally televised platform to smear the very journalists it exists to represent, effectively turn the stage into a Trump rally. It was a disgrace. My latest @status.news www.status.news/p/the-white-...

The White House Correspondents’ Disgrace

The WHCA sought to reconvene its annual dinner in celebration of press freedom. Instead, it handed Donald Trump a platform to attack the very journalists the organization exists to represent.

“Paramount also described the delay as a “significant win” because it gives the company “a direct path to a trial based on the evidence,” a spokeswoman said.” The Blake Lively playbook. The delay will cost them $650 million a quarter starting in October. But yeah that’s a “win.”

Paramount Agrees to Delay Warner Bros. Merger for Months

The company agreed to a proposed freeze until June 2027, unless a judge issues a ruling before then on a lawsuit blocking the deal.
