Sheep and goats to the rescue! They’ve got a huge mixed flock clearing dried vegetation near my house. I’ve seen flocks do the same for fire prevention up on hillsides, but this is the first time I’ve seen them down by the road.

OK, so one is dehumanization, the other one is factual. So I still don't know what people mean. We're not just trying to change their minds. That's a caricature.
This is why, if you did this data on what's actually happening in the classroom, you need to actually get into people's classrooms.
You need to read their syllabi. So there's a lot of caricaturing of academia, and I feel like this report is just — they're just using those caricatures and cherry-picking whatever they can find that seems good, that seems right, without truly engaging a whole history of a discipline, like English or anthropology.
In the AAA's response to the Vanderbilt report, you wrote that anthropology contains "vigorous and ongoing debates about theory, evidence, ethics, method, public engagement, and the future of the discipline itself." Is there any contradiction between those stated values and the cancellation of the panel in 2023?
