My new place is great because it looks haunted as fuck on the outside without any of the downsides of a haunted house on the inside (i.e., it isn't old, drafty, dirty, poorly insulated, and full of strange noises).
TWIN CITIES HORROR AND WEIRD FICTION WRITERS: I've made a Discord server for us! Interested in joining? DM me or email me (ericraglin1992 [at] gmail [dot] com) for the link.
Okay, now that I'm settled into my new place (which I love!), I want to organize the Twin Cities horror and Weird fiction writers hangout. Maybe a little Powderhorn Park picnic potluck/hang if the weather is nice? Or a cafe or brewery if it's nasty out? Chime in, TC folks. What ya think?!

Like a little seaside horror? Read "Twilight Tide" by Samir Sirk Morató in The Dark. If you dig it, pick up a copy of Samir's debut collection Gore Poetics. www.thedarkmagazine.com/twilight-tide/

Polly Schattel's film After the Fall, from a Jeffrey Thomas short story, will be on Netflix tomorrow night on their Crafty short films. Looking forward to this.
I counter your Tossed Salad trap card with my holographic Scrambled Eggs.

If this goes through, it will be absolutely devastating to higher ed, the arts, humanities, and learning in general.
President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v
If someone said, "You can have $10,000 cash right now, but you can never eat green onions again," I would take the $10,000, but TBH, I'd be so incredibly upset.
The Writhing, Verdant End features what I would describe as the perfect story for sinister, strange horse girls. If that's you, consider picking up this anthology of dark, weird, wonderful ecohorror: www.cursedmorselspress.com/product/the-...

Yesterday, I read the first story in Rejection by Tony Tulathimutte and was immediately like, ooooooh, this is why people love this book.
The evil (Fever and specifically Sophie Cunningham) has been defeated. Go Lynx! Courtney and Olivia in particular killed it. (But also, gotta give it up for Kelsey Mitchell. She's fuckin' wildly talented.)

She fucking sucks, and I WILL be booing her anytime she shows up on the screen in tomorrow's Lynx and Fever game.
Speaking for the first time since ralliers began assembling in support of her stance against transgender participation in women’s sports, Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham said this was an opportunity for the WNBA to uphold its values of diversity and inclusion. nyti.ms/4fHr4Qn

I know celebrating someone's death degrades your humanity, but when the wizard lady dies, I'm for sure having a little party.
I enjoyed The Odyssey quite a bit! Some great effects work (the Circe portion especially), a few standout performances (Page, Nyong'o, and Pattinson), and engaging pacing for a three-hour movie.
Combing through Cursed Morsels submissions and seeing a new-to-me writer with no social media presence used to be an exciting experience--like, "Ooh, a talented mystery person!"--and it's STILL exciting, but AI paranoia has become my initial reaction. Kinda sad!
If you want to read a story inspired by both Dr. Pimple Popper and exploitative, undeniably entertaining reality TV, preorder my collection Lonesome and Festering. It features "The Cystress," a story that is disgusting and romantic in equal measure. www.cursedmorselspress.com/product/lone...
