Inside us there are two Ringos trying to write a song. One about an octopus. The other about a garden. Make them kiss.

Like the assurances that roe v wade was settled law? Like assurances that Trump would release his taxes? Like assurances that ICE agents are only going after violent criminals? Like assurances that a SCOTUS nom would be blocked in an election year? Like assurances that Project 2025 wasn’t a thing?

Cornyn: "As to the idea it could be revived in the future, I think it's highly unlikely that could happen without the cooperation of the DOJ. And I think Mr Blanche gave us the assurances that it was dead and would not be revived and in this case we have no alternative but to take his word" 🙃

Officially, The Good Son. My mom thought it was just another Macaulay Culkin/Elijah Wood kids movie. I thought it would be a kids movie with cursing. It was super boring for an 8 y/o. Unofficially T2: Judgment Day which I had seen a good portion of when I slept over a friends house who had HBO.

Do you remember what *your* first R-rated movie was? I finally asked my mom (I couldn't remember), and she told me it was The Lost Boys when I was roughly the same age as my daughter (about 9). The movie traumatized her more than it did me, apparently

the "who won the 2020 election" question is the world's easiest litmus test to determine if a Trump appointee is going to be a hack, because every single one of them can't answer the question and every single one of them is, inevitably, a hack every Dem should vote no on all of them

OSSOFF: Who won the 2020 election? CLAYTON: Uhm, you know, I'm not going to do this with you O: This is a job interview. You have an obligation to be honest with the committee. Who won the 2020 election? C: I'm not gonna get into that with you O: You're not being honest or forthright C: ...

Work experience in food, retail, or hospitality should be a requirement for elected officials. Even giving Mike Johnson the benefit of the doubt that he meant “couple” (meaning 2) rather than “few”, working 22 hours over 2 days is not a rare occurrence for those in the aforementioned industries.

Mike Johnson, asked about Maine shooting by ICE officer, says he hasn’t been briefed and doesn’t know much: “I know that there was a tragic shooting. And I’m not going to comment on it because I don’t know. And you guys can mock me for not knowing that. I worked about 22 hours in the last few days.”
