Two studies now reveal distinct ways in which protein structure prediction can be incorporated into cryo-EM model building to enable more accurate and robust automated construction of protein atomic models from density maps.

Time-resolved cryo-EM! We captured the earliest intermediates of homologous recombination in RecA with known lifetimes in milliseconds. We show that trEM can capture an incredible number of transient states, far beyond what we had hoped starting this project. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
In 1890, the X and Y chromosomes were discovered. It was found that the men who were tested had 46 chromosomes, including an X and a Y, while women who were tested also had 46 chromosomes, including 2 X chromosomes. So obviously the conclusion was that the Y chromosome defined masculinity.
