NEW: The NIH has begun terminating grants for active projects studying gender identity, DEI, environmental justice, climate change, among other topics. At least 16 termination letters have already been sent — and hundreds more are coming, people inside NIH tell me. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

No movie/sequel pair are of both (1) equal quality and (2) the same general vibe as are Home Alone and Home Alone 2. Alien and Aliens are of equal quality, but the former is a horror and the latter is an action movie. Terminator and Terminator 2? Again equal quality, but very different in vibe.

It would be helpful to have a better method of publishing/distributing a single, and potentially important, finding -- one that's probably still too "stand alone" for a brief report. An undergraduate found something that could really inform future work, but nothing else in their project panned out.

Gearing up to learn about a totally new (to me) method. Do folks who are experts in fMRI have suggested resources for me to learn some basics? I'm planning to use fMRI paradigms for examining mechanisms of change underlying skill learning in the context of a K. Paradigms are selected already.

Sponsoring my husband to live in the US has been one of the most stress inducing experiences of my life. Every step has been unnecessarily difficult, opaque, and frustrating. We are both scientists and have had a terrible time navigating the system over the last 2 years.

I am in need of a licensed psychologist who has DBT expertise (ideally with adolescents) to serve on a K23 DSMB. I hate asking for folks for free labor. My hope is it wouldn't amount to more than 3 hours or so per year. Anyone willing?
