The air quality isn't actually so bad that I *had* to put on an N99 respirator to get the garbage bins, but the one silver lining of living in a post-apocalyptic hellscape where I've got an N99 respirator is I can toss it on and avoid inhaling even mildly poisoned air.

Okay, so season 2 of Caped Crusader keeps doing this thing where they reuse settings from Batman: The Animated Series as an homage or Easter egg or something. Mostly it's fine, if a bit repetitive...

It's the only method of voting where you actually have the ability to research which of the weirdos running for county assessor is a better choice, without holding up a dozen people waiting in line. It's insane to me this isn't how all voting is done in this country. It's so much better.

Washington has been 100% vote by mail since 2011. I haven't voted in person since 2000. All of our ballots have individual tracking numbers and we get to watch them go through the whole process. It is the best voting system in the US.

A couple episodes into season two of Caped Crusader, and my feelings are pretty similar to season one: this is good, but it's redundant. They're able to lean more into the influences of Batman TAS and *actually* not make it kid-friendly this time, but it's still basically doing the same thing.

Everyone's saying "echo chamber" like it's awful, but have you ever been in a real echo chamber? They're AMAZING. It's like being in a magical world that talks back up you. I love echo chambers!

If we're talking among all performing artists, it's Tori Amos with Under the Pink/Boys for Pele/From the Choir Hotel Hotel. For "bands," I'm going with Jethro Tull: Minstrel in the Gallery/Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die/Songs from the Wood.

What's the best three album run from a band? (the correct answer is Moving Pictures, Signals, and Grace Under Pressure by Rush, but I'm excited to learn second place)

If you believe this, and I hope you do, there is nothing stopping you from continuing to protect your vulnerable neighbors by wearing masks in crowded and indoor spaces, especially necessary spaces like healthcare facilities, grocery stores, and public transportation. Absolutely nothing.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

Working as a writer/Co-Producer on S2 of Batman Caped Crusader was a dream come true and yet personally, I’m bummed. Regardless of my credit snafu I hope you all check it out on Amazon Prime. Here’s pt 1 of 2:

Guys, I don't know how to say this, but I really think the theatrical experience is dying. Audiences just don't care as much about seeing this stuff on the big screen as they used to. The age of streaming has arrived.

YES! I don't think we talk enough about how much of fiction writing consists of making choices. Not just premise, setting, or character: small stuff, too. Lines of dialogue, descriptions, reactions... all of it serves a purpose. All of it is a choice.

For writers worried that they won't be able to "prove" their work isn't Spicy Autocomplete--worry not. You thought about every choice and will be able to talk about those choices easily and clearly. Folks who used the slop machine didn't make choices and won't have anything to say about why

I feel like we need to come together and find a middle ground between the extremists who want to feed our bodies, minds, and souls to the machines, and the equally bad extremists who insist on making it illegal to feed our bodies, minds, and souls to the machines.
