Author of The Night Circus (2011) & The Starless Sea (2019), creator of The Phantomwise Tarot (2022). she/her. Ask me about my cat. https://linktr.ee/erinmorgenstern

This book is the greatest showcase of the love of the process of writing and the art of language as there has ever been. I hardly remember the plot because every time I read it I get lost in the lush, frosty, languid vibrancy of the wordplay. One of my all time goats

The Night Circus turns 15 this year, somehow, and the US paperback from Vintage Books is getting a gorgeous new look for the occasion. Cover design by Madeline Partner with art by the incomparable @alexeckmanlawn.bsky.social (who also did the art for the US paperback of The Starless Sea) 🖤🎪🖤

The new US paperback cover of The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern with artwork by Alex Eckman-Lawn showing a black-and-white tent on a cloudy twilight sky, with strings of light leading to the tent. The tent is open to show a glimpse of layered trees and glowing red light.

Got my (our) signed copy of Offerings for Ordinary Gods from Inkwood Books! So delighted to have Ali's gorgeous poetry in such beautiful, tangible form 🖤

A copy of Ali Trotta's poetry collection, Offerings for Ordinary Gods, which has a black cover with gold script text and a woman obscured by a red hood. Peeking out from behind the book is a silver tabby cat who is also attempting to look mysterious.

Now we are forty-eight, taking antique mirror selfies while seeking out birthday treasures. (Came home with cigar boxes and a blank 1930s ledger and a tiny Whiting & Davis silver bag.) Later there will be festive beverages 🥂 Mostly offline for the summer, I hope your days are bright and buzzing 🐝

Antique mirror selfie of Erin Morgenstern, holding a pink phone and wearing a black shirt with a lot of silver jewelry. Her hair is dark and the kind of curly highly specific to summer humidity. In the background there are old paintings and a rogue door, a pile of axes and a metal horse.Antique (probably vintage, actually) mirror selfie of Erin Morgenstern, holding a pink phone and wearing a black shirt with lots of silver jewelry. In the background of the reflection there are framed paintings and piles of vintage clothing including a top hat. The mirror is oval in a large gold frame, next to the mirror is a sepia-toned oval painting of a woman with a bird.

A photograph of a page from The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (that's me), the chapter title is "Ailuromancy" and there is a hand-written note, pointing at it with a little arrow, that reads "divination using the movement of cats!" in questionable handwriting in black ink.Photo of a corner of a desk mostly taken up by an iMac displaying an illustration by Patsy Lascano depicting a scene from The Starless Sea: a sprawling space filled with columns and books and a large metallic orrery. Surrounding the computer there are rabbits and witches and crystals and origami, and bare winter trees are visible through the window behind it.
