All i remember was every indian person I know scrambling to get an american flag to put in their car window as if it were a talisman of protection, and a dude throwing a rock at me in downtown San Jose on sept 12th. I remember 9/11 as the last day I got to be an unqualified full status american.

And this was BOTH parties, not just Republicans. I'd bet dollars to donuts if Twitter had existed back then you'd find the liberal folks joining in. I'm part of a web forum that existed at that time period and I bet I'd find some really fucked up stuff from the 9/11 thread from people there.

it's funny because in the pre-internet days as an artist you could use basically anything as a reference and be pretty assured that no one would ever find out, or even if they did find out, they wouldn't really be able to tell anyone about it.
