Aztec Ehecatl Snake Figure, from the State of Mexico (1400–1521 CE). Carved in basalt (23 cm), it shows a human face inside a serpent's jaws. Ehecatl is the god of wind, an avatar of Quetzalcoatl. These circular temple sculptures swept the path for upcoming rain.
