Prosecuting Attorney for Washtenaw County, Michigan. Democratic candidate, Michigan Attorney General.

As the entire universe knows, tomorrow is primary day in Michigan. And though I’m not on the ballot (convention nomination, remember?), I wanted to share some thoughts about the folks who are. /1

Our opponents are coming after our voting rights—precisely so they can take away our reproductive rights. They know the power of our voices and our votes. And as Attorney General, I’ll defend our rights—voting rights, civil rights, reproductive rights—against any and all unlawful attacks.

We can never fall sway to those who intentionally seek to divide us from our neighbors. The way to move forward is with all of us, together, in solidarity.

A day after SCOTUS rejects Trump’s efforts to sideline birthright citizens, he fights to allow one to suit up for the US. The point? Birthright citizens ARE part of America. Always have been. They’re our veterans. Teachers. Doctors. And—yep—our soccer stars. (Also, it wasn’t a red card).

Happy Father’s Day to all dads out there, especially to mine. Though our clothing choices may have evolved—from overalls & bathrobes to suits & convention swag—my dad’s always been there for me. Because that’s what dads do. Sending love not just to him, but fathers everywhere.

Today, we joined events hosted by the City of Oak Park, DABO Detroit, and the Michigan Democratic Party to commemorate Juneteenth. A picture perfect day to celebrate freedom and community—and redouble ourselves to ensuring that the promise of freedom and equality is actually fulfilled.

A mom should never have to pay more for baby medicine just because her kid is sick. Yet with the rise of AI based pricing, that’s the dystopian road we’re going down. But not on my watch as AG.

Wonderful attending the Newaygo County Dems’ annual dinner this evening—and particularly honored to present AG Dana Nessel with their Democracy Defender Award. It’s incredibly well-deserved. And I look forward to continuing the work—for our democracy and our future.

Thank you to the Newaygo County Democratic Party for presenting me with the “Democracy Defender” award at your 10th annual fundraising dinner. Great to be with our next AG Eli Savit as well as so many dedicated members of our party.

Proudly joined striking @uaw.org workers on the lines at American Axle this morning. In 2008, workers took massive pay cuts—many from $29 to $14.50 an hour—to save the company. Now, billions in profit later, it’s past time for American Axle to pay its workers a fair wage.

The Michigan Attorney General can’t end Trump’s stupid war with Iran. What I can do as AG is make sure corporations aren’t taking advantage of this crisis—or any other—to rip you off. And I will.

A meaningful start to Memorial Day in Saline, paying respects to fallen heroes. Mayor Marl read from the letter Maj. Sullivan Ballou wrote to his wife Sarah before dying in combat in the Civil War—reflecting the ultimate sacrifice so many Americans & their loved ones made. /1

Heartbroken by today’s horrific attack on San Diego’s Muslim community. The Islamophobia, violence, & hate must end. Nobody should face harm because of who they are, or what they believe. Everyone must feel safe at religious institutions, community centers, & schools. Period.

Grateful that all those attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner are safe. Thankful for the quick response by law-enforcement. There is never any place for political violence in our democracy.

Now that we’re on to the general election, some thoughts about how we’re going to shift our messaging. (Spoiler: we’re gonna stand for what we always have stood for).

Some scenes from the convention this weekend. Our incredible team is going to keep the energy up through November to ensure that Michigan has an Attorney General who will fight for all people!

Thank you to the Michigan Democratic Party. Thank you to our competitors in this race. Thank you to everyone who believed, showed up, and poured their hearts and souls into this campaign. The work is just starting. Onwards to November. And onwards for a brighter future for Michigan.
