This is what the Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, along with her nationalist friends refer to as "a threat against Europe"
As a commentary on our contemporary condition, Nolan’s Odyssey mourns the crisis of liberalism and ends by expressing hope for a future liberal restoration. Of course, we should reject such nostalgia.
Vivek Chibber sadly fails to see that his arguments for market "socialism" lead to a naturalization of orthodox economic theory. His model would still produce the same pathologies as any economy where market competition and profit-maximization are permitted. jacobin.com/2026/05/cent...
Socialism Has a Future. Central Planning Doesn’t.
Central planners had a rational vision: replace the anarchy of the market with conscious coordination. Vivek Chibber explains why calculation and incentive problems undermined that vision, but a diffe...

Meanwhile, in Denmark, the left embraces reamament and increased military spending in the name of "national defence". The strong tradition of anti-militarism, including both left-social democrats and most of the socialist and communist left, is long gone. jacobin.com/2026/03/germ...

"we had boats landing there, also"... We're truly living in an era of aimless, mad capitalism and irrational imperialist decadence
The red peasant ploughing amidst the ruins of evil lordship and capitalism preparing the soil for a good harvest for all working people
Pleaseeee can we stop pretending that the main problem with the US attacking and taking control over Venezuela is that they for once haven’t bothered framing their imperialism in international legal discourse? International law won’t save us, it was literally created to justify shit like this
Remember that the US *does not care* about the people of Venezuela. It is not about "narcotrafficking", or "democracy", or whatever propaganda they have going. It is *explicitly* about US control over oil, capital accumulation, and geopolitical power.
Do we really believe that appealing to “international law” can prevent imperialist aggression? History teaches otherwise. We need to abolish the system that creates the conditions for such aggression: global capitalism. If that seems somehow unrealistic, it’s simply necessary to make it less so.
This book is essential reading for historians of capitalism and agriculture. It provides new evidence of the crucial role of peasant expropriation by large landowners in the emergence of agrarian capitalism in England during the 15th-16th centuries. For years, the role of peasant expropriation 1/2

Zarah Sultana says we should "nationalise the entire economy." I asked her what that meant in practice.

At the Danish Marxism conference, I had a great discussion after my paper presenting a critical history of the Danish farmer cooperatives. Are cooperatives inherently problematic, or is it just this specific historical example? My opinion is that whether a capitalist firm is owned by individuals 1/3
