Recently proposed U.S. policies including cuts to NIH funding, keyword censorship of grants, withdrawal of information from the public, and mass layoffs of employees in federal agencies threaten the integrity of science and well-being of people throughout the world.

The question we ask: when do face responses arise in human infant cortex? Neuroscientists and developmental psychologists (my two disciplines) have different intuitions.
