The US-Iran ceasefire agreement is a relief, but uncertainty remains in the region. In Riyadh, I met with FM Faisal bin Farhan and GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi to discuss how to move from the two-week truce to a more permanent peace. We also discussed broader regional issues (1/2)

To seek peace in today’s world, Europe must be able to project power. To deter, to counter, and to increase our influence. Security must be our default mindset across all assets and policies. This will be at the heart of our new European Security Strategy.

#ASIAPAC new MD Erik Kurzweil & EU Special Envoy Maria Castillo Fernandez met today with EU MS Special Envoys for the Indo-Pacific to discuss the outcome of the 2025 #IPMF and the way forward in this important region. Working together, we can strengthen EU’s presence & engagement in the region.

Today’s agreement between Cambodia and Thailand is an important milestone for peace. We commend President Trump and Malaysia as ASEAN Chair for their efforts in sealing the deal. The EU is ready to support its implementation, including by facilitating de-mining in the border region.
