The EU-SABV COST Action (CA24168) @costprogramme.bsky.social will equip researchers with knowledge to enhance research on Sex as a Biological Variable (SABV) 🔗 sabv.eu
How much biological variability exists within female research models? In the EU-SABV × DKFZ webinar series, Ivana Jaric highlighted how hormonal status and housing conditions can influence behavioral outcomes in mouse models. @jaricivana.bsky.social
Can timing influence how hormone therapy affects brain health? In the EU-SABV × DKFZ webinar series, Ivan Nalvarte shared how the relationship between HRT and Alzheimer’s disease may depend on biological context, treatment timing, and duration.
June is Men’s Health Month. Improving men’s health requires understanding how biological sex influences health, disease, and treatment responses. Men experience distinct patterns of disease risk and health outcomes across a range of conditions.
International Day of Action for Women’s Health Progress in women’s health depends on asking better research questions and generating data that reflect biological diversity.
Our symposium, “Estrogens: More Than a Female Reproductive Hormone,” at the Organization for the OSSD-Organization for the Study of Sex Differences meeting in Hawaii was a great success! @ossdcomm.bsky.social @eu-sabv.bsky.social @georgiahodes.bsky.social @drjess.bsky.social

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Moving beyond awareness means embracing acceptance- and recognizing autism as a diverse spectrum.
SIRF-UP is an @eu-sabv.bsky.social COST Action initiative to support ethical review bodies assess sex-inclusivity in animal research. Using female and male animals should be the default to reduce the total number of animals used and produce results that are generalisable to the whole population.
If you are involved in an ethical review body anywhere in the world (including AWERBs, IACUCs or Animal Welfare Committees), you can get involved in SIRF-UP. Answer a short survey, receive a support pack to apply the Sex Inclusive Research Framework and share your feedback: sabv.eu/article/sirf...
