There is a player on the LA Queens, Brittany Apgar, who has a limb difference and traveled back to Illinois from receiving her first ever batting prosthetic *today* and is 3-for-3 in her first game playing with one. Incredibly cool.

Air travel has gotten significantly better. There is NO SMOKING on flights. I remember flying as a kid with people smoking in the same row. It was terrible. People complain about delays, but there are considerably more flights now & not a lot more runways. Lower prices have democratized flying.

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

air travel is one of those experiences that has gotten monotonically worse over my entire lifetime

question though: has *anything* in the last 40+ years genuinely gotten *better*?

like, there's *more* stuff, sure, but is any of it *better*?

I was embarrassed for Ben McDonald. Every person in the world knew the Orioles needed a #1 starter and a bullpen. Elias didn’t prioritize either one. The offense is solid. The pitching has been terrible. Near the worst in the league. Entirely predicable.

the MASN crew doing a deadline postmortem and not criticizing the front office at all is wild (I understand why they won’t but it’s still nuts)

After a day of feeling negative about the Orioles front office, I'm happy they reacquired Michael Forret. I think he's going to be solid. And, the O's have neglected pitching for so long it's at least refreshing to have some depth of prospects in the organization. But, I hate waving the white flag.

Early reports were Eyanson and Narvaez, but later reports say Witherspoon, and Eddy Azocar are also in the deal, plus a PTBNL. Eyanson is a top 50 prospect, so he's the biggest name. Witherspoon was a borderline top-100, but slipped this season. Azocar looks like a legit hitter as well. I'm 1/

i know the Orioles aren't getting Arias back, so anything less than Eyanson or Witherspoon as the primary return is going to be 🤮 Considering his love for college outfielders, I can see Owen Hull being Elias's top target.
