We’re triple booked this weekend, with fun shenanigans. Figured I should get the word out if anyone else likes shenanigans.
I put my phone in my pocket with the camera on, and actually got some cool photos.
I took a sea kayaking class 4 yrs ago, and spent a whole day practicing flipping the kayak and climbing back in. A warm day, a swimsuit, and calm lake inspired us to try it again. Approximately one million bruises and a paddle-busted lip later, I can report that is harder than I remembered.
I love pet sitting for art friends because it basically becomes a museum visit with a cat
I was being a bit stressed because I only have one free Saturday this summer. Then I looked ahead, and realized there’s only two more free until December.
"Pokemon" is short for "pocket monsters". "Digimon" is short for "digital monsters". Therefore, "salmon" is short for "saltwater monsters". (You might object: salmon spend a big part of their life in freshwater. But pokemon spend a big part of their life outside pockets too!)
I just realized I only have one free weekend between now and September.

Heard the unmistakable sound of my office chair swiveling while alone in the apartment and, crucially, not sitting in my office chair. Turns out: RACCOON.
Burying our sorrows through a long scheduled weekend of rallycross in Oregon. It’s hard to have morning coffee without her, even in another state. I miss that bratty cat.
We’re saying goodbye to our sweet cat Ozette today, after nearly two decades. She’s the sweetest, softest, meanest beast ever, and definitely appears in my sculptures.
We’ve been on a total roller coaster with one of our two beloved elderly cats. Over the last week, we’d been prepared to say good bye three times. Each time, she unexpectedly perked back up. It’s just so draining.
I had a fledgling finch land on my shoulder this afternoon. It didn’t stay for long, but it was a truly surreal treat.
The summer is a weird time for me. I can’t fire the wood kiln until the burn ban lifts again in the fall. In theory, I should be starting sculptures now for fall, or relaxing. But instead I’m failing to do the former, which is stressing me too much to actually do the latter.
I have two urgent tasks to do today: clean the house and come up with a really cool sculpture idea. Not feeling either one, at the moment.
I would love to give this a shot though, if you are or know an artist in Seattle who might want to sublet a studio space for a bit I'd love to hear from you. I'm good at taking care of plants.

I’ve never been a “car person”, and am generally a slightly hesitant driver. But now apparently I’m into rally cross? I don’t know how this happened, but it’s absurdly fun. I sunburnt myself last weekend while welding the car, and spent this Saturday getting sunburnt by hooning around a track.
