Co-host of What Would The Smart Party Do? and Unconventional GMs, premier #ttrpg content providers. 🕪 www.whatwouldthesmartpartydo.com 🖳 www.youtube.com/@unconventionalgms

I have a bunch of things I've run for conventions or the UGMs channel that exist as sparse docs with the intention of turning them into Community Content. Keep bouncing around which I chip away at (while adding more to the pile). I could do with a secretary or something to dictate to (hashtag no Ai)

Fumbles are great in non-combat situations, like a key diplomatic encounter or shooting an apple off the lord's son's head. Criticals are very meh here. Criticals are awesome in combat encounters, performing feats of awesomeness and speeding up the action. Fumbles are tedious here. #ttrpg #ttrpgs

Had a nice board and card game day at the weekend. Someone dropped out so we couldn't start our Daggerheart campaign. Had a lovely time with friends regardless - don't normally enjoy co-op stuff but Horrified was decent. Greek heroes dealing with rampaging monsters. A new scenario idea forms...

The blues set in as I'm back from @the-kraken.bsky.social I can at least reflect on all the games and good times. Played: 13th Age in Glorantha CyBorg Delta Green Feng Shui Over the Edge Royal Blood Two Sides to the Coin Ran: AGON Barbarians of Lemuria Pendragon Savage Worlds Vaesen

Having played some Cy Borg, I'm thinking about cyberpunk shizzle (Neuromancer film upcoming), is there an Into the Odd / Mythic Bastionland style hack for this sort of thing? Essentially looking for a rules lite, but rules interesting vehicle for cyber shenanigans.

Game ten of The Kraken is CyBorg. We're dealing with some stolen implants and the people they are attached to. When all you have is a monofilament zweihander, every problem looks like a limb.

Celebrating ninth game of the Kraken, an amazing Barbarians of Lemuria session I ran, with a tasty Doppelbock. The hapless anti heroes managed to make a Saffron Tincture from diverse ingredients and save their Sultan for madness, before the rubies flowed like sand through their fingers.

Bild

Game nine of The Kraken is 13th Age Glorantha. We grabbed a war rattle, chaos bagpipes and rebuilt a troll temple. Onwards to war with the Lunars.

Bild

Game eight of the Kraken is Over the Edge, playing roleplayers playing a roleplaying game in the venue where we, as players, are. Just what you need first thing on a Sunday morning 😁

Bild

Game seven of the Kraken is a Space Orks game powered by Savage Worlds. The hapless krew surmounted all manner of travails, dropped grenades, demons, mutants and rivals to (mostly) live to fight another day. Currently chasing gobboes to get their ship back. Hilarious and flavourful.

With the pasty players afeared of the sun's blessings, our hapless knights headed inside for the second half of Pendragon. Nature fans would be proud of a mighty hippogriff downing one knight and a giant ferret another. Just needed a Sir David Attenborough voice over.

Game Five at the Kraken was Ukrainian Vaesen, went well for a first run of the scenario. With a cultural expert at the table, we had pronunciation checking and colourful tidbits on tap.

It's largely nice to hear from folk who'd like to come on the podcast, even if I can't accommodate everyone, but occasionally you get someone grim. To save everyone's time, if you're leading with "having a reputation for being both argumentative and difficult to categorise". 1/

Third game of the Kraken was Delta Green. Completely successful mission, although all the other agents didn't make it, my Randolph got the W, just like funking Saigon...

Bild

Game 2 of The Kraken is @gshowitt.bsky.social Royal Blood, with the nice cards and hefty tokens. That one magic pub which never closes, an embittered ex-landlord is our way into the nefarious goings on in the Royal Pub - the only building standing on a demolished street.

Time for the Summer Kraken and my lair is prepared. Already played one unofficial game (Troubles With Fluffy, Two Sides to the Coin). Sadly, The Milner had to go on a supply run this morning, so nothing right now, but Royal Blood and Delta Green to come.
