Since when did non-identity transforms become the fallback hack when null transforms stopped being reliable. Chromium said translateZ(0) is too trivial to deserve a layer ( poor thing), so we've moved to perspective(1px)... the CSS equivalent of putting a jacket on the chair 'just in case'.
