On 25/5, Emma+Hannah took the stage at Nerdland Festival with their talk 'Autism: skills & chills', arguing we shouldn't only look at autism through a negative lens, but also not put on rose-coloured glasses. The truth and value lie in the nuance. Emma's full post: www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

Waarom werkt #phishing? Wanneer we onder druk staan of snel moeten handelen, nemen we beslissingen zonder alles grondig te controleren - en criminelen maken hier handig gebruik van! Hoe precies? Mathias Van der Biest schrijft erover in een nieuwe blog! nl.in-mind.org/blog/post/wa...

Interpersonal Adjustment as An Account for Communication Challenges Among Individuals with High and Low Autistic Traits: https://osf.io/dmb4g
We operationalize Double Empathy Problem distinguishing global autistic-trait differences from local interpersonal adjustment. Our findings suggest continuous accommodation of mental states during interaction as a mechanism through which individual differences shape communication outcomes.

My latest (Dutch!) column for EOS Psyche & Brein was my most personal thus far - it is about how we mourn, and specifically, how I have been mourning the death of my best friend, one year ago last week. You can read it here: www.eoswetenschap.eu/psyche-brein...
Hoe doe je dat, rouwen?
Rouwen is voor iedereen anders. Het raakt verschillende gebieden in onze hersenen die we linken aan emotieregulatie, de controle over ons denken, doen en bel...
