PhD student @explora_gent studying the double empathy problem in autism

Excited to be presenting my poster this Friday at #INSAR25! It dives into the theory of the double empathy problem, with a focus on how well people with and without autism can understand each other’s thoughts when they share (or don’t share) the same neurotype. Come say hi!

Very grateful for the opportunity to present our research at the Social Cognition Workshop as a blitz talk (and a poster)! Thank you for the interesting questions and discussions. I’m already looking forward to next year’s edition! 😄

A person stands at the front of an auditorium, delivering a presentation. In the background, a projected slide is visible with the title: 'Relating oneself to others in time and space: A Relational Frame Theory account of perspective-taking and Theory of Mind.' An audience is seated in the foreground.

1️⃣ @mauranevejans.bsky.social reported no significant link between deictic relational reasoning and autistic traits, challenging the claims of Relational Frame Theory regarding Theory of Mind and perspective-taking in autism.

Had a great time at the Marguerite-Delacroix meeting, filled with inspiring talks and conversations. I loved connecting with others and was excited to present my poster on our study about the experiences of individuals with autism in communicating with others with autism!
