I was camping for a week in Grundy Co. and went to a bait shop. They were having a raffle for for the local high school. The prize was a 12-gauge shotgun OR a dinner for two at a local restaurant. Joked with a friend that they had to add dinner as an option cause they already have a 12-gauge.
Nothing says “normal political party in a constitutional democracy” like attracting people to your event by raffling off a shit ton of guns and ammo.
I've built a map displaying where on the Amtrak network you can take your bike, line-by-line and station-by-station. This data isn't available anywhere else, check out where you can go! amtrak-bike-map.transittools.dev

Nashville’s Metro Council voted to authorize the attempted eminent domain takeover of a property adjacent to the Nashville Zoo where a developer plans to build a data center. But there are still several steps remaining before the purchase could take place. ✍️ @stelliott.bsky.social
Previous question on eminant domain again. I get it. It's a legal thing. But's it's weak sauce.
Hasn't been called yet, but looking real damn good for El-Sayed for MI Senate. Real damn good.
The sun's getting real low, big guy.
Kudos to @russbradford.com for keeping the double breasted suit buttoned this late in the meeting.
Me in the chambers hearing Jing’s last name being mispronounced.
Forgot to end my comments with this, but Jing, nominated for the Animal Care and Control Commission, would undoubtedly be a great choice. She’s saved and snipped as many if not more cats than @jkupin4d19.bsky.social. I know, because I’ve helped mid-wife kittens from ferals on our kitchen floor.
This is waaaaay better than Meth Gator, btw. CGI, not so much. Overall idea, yes.
this is still going on? I moved on to watching Pool, a thai film with an aligator.
For those working late, waiting for the El-Sayed final resutls. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcd6...

This is one of the dumbest jokes I've ever made and it was not a good visual one. Why are you sickos liking this?

Yeah, yeah, I got a green shirt. From shame to fame, @themanaen.bsky.social.
I need to pull out my seersucker suit from the closet every time I show up to council. @jhollymc.bsky.social, it's time.
Ban windows! For the birds.
I don't know the particulars about the situation back in the day, but I find it fitting that Dragon Park is referenced in support of the Vanderbilt project when it's actual name, Fannie Mae Dees Park, is named after the woman very much fought against urban renewal and Vandy expanding.
Vulch is just an attempt at an insult, right? Cause I do hate that name.
I used to be a child too, 30 years ago. Doesn’t mean I know what it’s like to be a child today.
“Multi-familied” is now a pejorative verb.

15-20 meetings for a fence is objectively too many meetings.
It’s so clear that it’s to create a narrative to side-step any accountability and avoid the obvious answer of taking definitive and immediate action to close Lower Broad to vehicular traffic. Even if it was a medical emergency, permanent barriers to traffic would have very much prevented this.
I'm really tired of the "this wasn't preventable" dialogue because the driver is said to have had a medical episode. 1) The investigation is still ongoing and the cause hasn't been determined 2) If the 4th Ave intersection was closed, the driver would have been elsewhere with a lot less ped traffic
I love overhearing boomers tell gen-xers that the younger generations don’t understand the value of “grind” and don’t have work ethics anymore. At 10:30 on a Tuesday while clearly not at their place of work.
Given the rates of drugged drinks downtown, I don’t trust their knowledge and ability to run a bar either.
I respect downtown bar owners' ability and knowledge on how to run a downtown Nashville bar. I don't respect their expertise to determine that closing the area to vehicular traffic would be "economic suicide."
Me and the guys in our caravan to NYC for a basket of 30% off goceries... without ID.

If you want a truly stark view of how dangerous it is for pedestrians along Lower Broad, here's an image from the Nashville Open Data Portal (not including Saturday). 451 total crashes resulted in 97 injuries. 52 crashes involved pedestrians but resulted in half of total injuries. It's past time.
