it used to be that my job as a software dev was basically solving puzzles. try a piece, scratch your head, think where it could go, move around ones that were wrong. eventually, you'd have something in your hands. but it's the feeling of accomplishment that did it for me, not the "something" itself.

i have the weirdest relationship with art. i hold media in such high regard when i'm not consuming it, to a degree it feels ethereal, but in a bad way. it's like i keep an ideal version of the media i love and compare all i do to that, which makes me think all i make sucks and will never compare.

finished this yesterday and boy oh boy what a massive disappointment. i never finished this as a teenager, but my recollection was of artistically incredible, grimy, horrific, character and level design that was bold and new. that is still all true, except the devs clearly ran out of time and money
