It’s genuinely galling to see them doing a victory lap claiming to have been proven right. A thoughtful self-reflective piece could be written about how and why they got it so wrong, but they never will. One of the pathologies of “the movement” is a near-Trumpian aversion to ever admitting error.

When I worked for Reason magazine during Trump's rise to power in 2016, I was explicitly forbidden by the editor in chief from writing about Trump's racism, or the violence and racism at his rallies. It was a "sideshow," I was told.

Libertarian National Committee member says that “Jewish people are probably the most violent minority on the planet.” There’s a sizable contingent of the Libertarian Party (that includes Mises Caucus Presidential candidate Michael Rectenwald) that caters to antisemites.
