GBE | No Evidence Supports the Presence of SRF-type MADS-Box Genes in Land Plants

Is there evidence that a small subset of plant Type I MADS-box genes are orthologous to animal SRF genes? Our analyses do not support this. Rather, they indicate that both plant Type I MADS-box genes and their plant-specific paralogous Type II genes are related to animal MEF2 genes.

I defended my PhD 10 years ago today. That was the least remarkable thing that happened that day. Sharing something I wrote about it last year. Since then "the horrors persist but so do we." And with dignity.
