Two birthdays this week! Faye turned four on Monday and Blitz turned TEN today! He got some special glamor shots with the Nikon to celebrate the occasion.

I don’t understand how people can run for office knowing they have insane baggage and/or crimes. Like I spent the entire campaign expecting AIPAC to somehow dig up my middle school livejournal fanfic account. I prepared my family for it. I’m still amazed it didn’t happen.

Things have been quiet-ish lately. Working on the gardens and building hutches for some quail we have arriving later this month. July is very much the off season for the dogs, but next month we begin prepping for fall!

every job i see these days is like: LEAD CONTENT ANALYST, Puppy Killing Factory (remote). $350,000 - $500,000. You will edit our internal newsletter (circulation 500). Associate Editor, Nonprofits, Global Good Magazine (in office, NYC). $27,000 - $28,000. Lead ALL of our fundraising efforts!

I spent the past week at the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone national park, watching wildlife and beautiful views. We must protect this with everything we’ve got.

The babies are two weeks today 🥹 we think Eris is bi eyed, Weywot brown eyed, and Pluto blue eyed. We'll know for sure in the next week or so. Yesterday would've been their father's 11th birthday, and while I'm still grieving him, I'm also thankful he gave us these little treasures before he left. ♥️

Busy busy off season! The chicks have been getting time out in their run this week, and they love it! Went swimming with Laika and Kuiper. Kuiper is NOT a fan. Cats caught a bird in their catio!? It lived. And yesterday Willow turned 11! Ack!!

The chicks have graduated to the coop! I miss having them right next to my office, but they were outgrowing their containment in the guest room.

Barn hunt lesson for Faye, group hike for Willow, Blitz, and Ruby. The off season continues! Even though it was technically cold enough to run this AM… the atv has been power washed and the lines are put away til fall.

It’s hot! In positive news, I finished the dog yard fence—it’s now 6’ all around. Chicken run is almost done, just need to tidy up the wire mesh. Negative news, had to pay a plumber $450 to unclog sink. However, he WAS impressed that we had 10 dogs & the house only smelled “a little” like dogs 😆

Eager for the weekend. Why? Never ending spring projects! ‣ Dog play yard fence improvements ‣ Mowing around/prepping raised beds ‣ Finishing chicken's outdoor run ‣ Final coop interior adjustments (chicks move out soon!) We've hung up the harnesses 'til fall, but there's no shortage of work!
