Here’s a comparison of “false morels” with true morels (Morchella). First pic top: foldy brown lumps with slightly fluted stems are toxic Gyromitra. Bottom left is a “thimble morel” or Verpa, these are edible when cooked, bottom right is Morchella snyderi (deep pitted caps and hollow inside)
