It's sad that my local @showcasecinemasuk.bsky.social has failed to screen NO OTHER CHOICE, despite advertising it as part of their 'Spotlight' promotion and, after I emailed them to query, assuring me they would screen it a week after release (they did not). MELANIA however is on twice tomorrow.
I know this is small fry in the today's global landscape, but genuinely dispiriting today to see two new podcasts in the Film History chart taking top spots which appear to be entirely AI generated.

Rewatch of THE TWO TOWERS Extended Edition. Perhaps this lacks the pacing of FELLOWSHIP - it definitely slows to an Entish amble by the mid-point - but it's very hard to argue against the iconic status of the Battle of Helm's Deep.

Just out of THE BONE TEMPLE. Best entry in the franchise by some distance; also one of the most upsetting films I've seen for ages. Beautiful, stomach-turning, elegiac, nightmarish. Between this and SINNERS Jack O'Connell is building a strong résumé of the most iconic horror villains of the 2020s.
