It's getting closer to what I want! Going to start adding more destructible terrain and enemy types. Still on the table: magic, livestock, colossal entities / dungeons, crafting / farming / hub overhaul, destructive terrain, and enemy variants. Then I can solve the story problems.

Croplike v0.5.4 is up. Mech combat: a missile launcher, a hook, heat, and bump attacks that shove. Crewed mechs now roam the field and hunt you. Sound on everything, too. croplike.com

Roguelike game with the player in a mech.
The hull's missiles mid-flight.

I nocked out 2 games on my play list this weekend. Kynseed and Dragon’s Dogma 2 dlc. Played with my daughter a lot. Cleaned my apartment. Worked on Croplike. Pretty sick weekend!

Don’t know if it will happen today. But big Croplike update incoming. Since Ryan destroyed a deliverable at work months early! Should include ui / ux adjustments, mech combat, and audio.

the past several years have felt like we've wandered from the societal town square and gotten lost in alleyways where we can't see or hear one another or get back out. now adding ai feels like people are turning into trash cans and broken glass and windows and talking about how much better life is

Every single hobby I love has has been infected by slopped up and unserious software. It's exhausting. aftermath.site/ai-slop-hobbie...

I really love how much I have to read now for work again. And retention and context matters. So some these responses are just delightful puzzles!

Hows your week going? "I went and bought a can of 'Rockstar' for in the morning." We diving into it and I am playing music from a speaker until summoned to a meeting.

I am the dinner planner tonight. It's usually fun. Maple bacon + eggs with some veggis chopped into it. Since I have my kid all evening alone... I am feeling like more of a $2 Costco hotdog type of chef. Given the state of everything... either works. Try taking that from me evolving work space.

I am so tired right now. I have so much happening at work that it is hard to keep up with in the wake of losing some team members. Looking at the news... oh this is everywhere. Ok. Yay for existing! Good luck and you are all doing great!

I get why some people do not care for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The last episode of this season was a gem on handling friendship and addressing problems as an adult. Even for the characters of this show.

Started doing mace and club training on top of my runs and archery. Also added in jumping rope a 2/3 times a week. Slowly going to get back to being fit. But ohhhhh does jumping rope in your 40s equate to a humbling experience.

If you like fantasy, I highly recommend this book. In the same way that I love the world building in the Ana and Din books. Also one of the most horrific interpretations of goblins in this series. This is technically the third book in the series too.

Croplike 0.5.3 — the interface is on the same screen the game is. Health, buttons, menus and warnings all pick up the phosphor and the scanlines the board already had. Lit, see-through, cornered instead of boxed. Still in development. croplike.com

Top-down coloured-ASCII roguelike on a dark CRT-style screen. A white @ stands in tall green grass beside a gold H, the landing pad. To the right, a pink mech and a red three-by-three square marking the ground it is about to cross. The HUD below reads HP 12/12, FED 0/3, CAMP 14 left.
