Physician. Scientist. My posts are my own personal opinions.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts. Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Did we all take organic chemistry & the MCAT & miss the social part of our early 20’s and work 80 hours a week for 3+ years for the brain worm guy who doesn’t know what a p-value is to destroy our nation’s public health system? No. Time to lean into our expertise and speak up.

We should determine if downsizing the National Weather Service, off-loading emergency responses, & policy that ignores climate change contributed to deaths in Texas. If not, environmental disasters will become the new gun violence - deaths we shrug our shoulders about & accept.

The Trump administration has chosen not just to trivialize the danger presented by climate change, but to revoke funding for the very data collection and research that would help the country better understand and prepare for this moment. By @abrahm.bsky.social

We all benefit from federally funded science info, public health resources, & medical research. Although the scientific advances have been phenomenal, our communication about the funding impact has apparently been poor. @pwdp.bsky.social @physiciandemocracy.medsky.social @theaacr.bsky.social

Deaths from heart disease down 75%, that’s NIH. Deaths from stroke down 75%, that’s NIH. HIV/AIDS no longer a death sentence, that’s NIH. 99% of FDA approved drugs in the last decade, that’s NIH. Please show this video to anyone who doesn’t understand why the NIH is so important.

We (scientists, physicians) have done a great job advancing the understanding of cancer biology, preventing cancer, and treating cancer. We have done a poor job educating the public about why cancer research is vital. #AACR25 @theaacr.bsky.social @astro-org.bsky.social @ascocancer.bsky.social

"It is critically important that we raise our voices in support of innovative cancer science and medicine." AACR President Patricia M. LoRusso, DO, PhD (hc), FAACR, calls on the #AACR25 delegates to stand together and call on Congress to make cancer research a national priority.

Today I am calling my reps to object to international students who are legally in the country having their visas revoked without committing a crime. This action is reprehensible and wastes resources that could be used to protect us from real criminals.
