BIG: Kansas just rejected a ballot measure that would have required state Supreme Court justices to be elected rather than appointed by the governor — dealing another setback to Republicans trying to overturn a decision that established a constitutional right to abortion.

I think the assumption is EV is more conservative than Election Day vote, which is what’s currently happening in Kansas’s governor race. (The more progressive) Holscher started out strong, then it got real close between her & Corson, but now she’s pulling ahead again

Commentary on here has been universally assuming the latter, despite the actual trends seeming to indicate the former, and I'm curious why.

I think on the whole it’s totally fine in principle to urge people to be cautious in how they talk about AIPAC et al but some people really do need to get it thru to themselves that it is actually exceptional for one organization to spend >30M on a single primary like it’s nothing.

Stop the false equivalence. No other President sued his own government to secure immunity for himself and his family, created a fund to reward cop beaters, and demanded prosecution of his political enemies. Trump’s weaponization of DOJ is unprecedented and you just endorsed it.
