Aside from anything else, I just don’t believe that humanoid robots would be the most efficient shape for the different tasks. So unless the task is ‘impressing humans with how sci fi it is’, or maybe customer facing service, I struggle to believe we will have humanoid robots.

I really like my Bluesky bubble because I have mostly recreated my Twitter bubble of journo and thinktank tweeps. However, it is a fun place to post for me - not a professionally valuable place. It needs to become more mainstream to be useful that way. And maybe others don’t want that - but I do.

Also having health and welfare (medical) POA was so important when she wasn’t getting the right care and the hospital tried to hide behind ‘we can’t tell you the details because of privacy’. Thank god for Covid, weirdly, or we wouldn’t have had it in time.
Get lasting power of attorney in place now, before you need it.

I think this is undeniably true. But it’s not just the journalism (all the journalism, not singling out Sky). I think it’s genuinely how people respond to cuts versus hikes - I expect the voxes are saying this stuff, not that the journalists are ignoring people saying ‘oh thank god for that’
