Brilliant article, Sinclair's account of Prynne's life through a catalogue of stapled pamphlets, tapes and chapbooks
‘What was noticeable was the way that Prynne championed outlier poets alongside the obvious members of the so-called Cambridge School. He liked independent spirits, who thrived without the benefit of university education and patronage.’ Iain Sinclair on J.H. Prynne. www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...

question I was recently asked on a podcast: any advice for starting a ceremonial magic society? 1) You're asking the wrong person here & 2) Make sure your group's invented backstory is bulletproof

Found me Dagons again, lost in a book stack after a shelf reordering. The Klein issue contains a letter (on paper, not in print) TEDK sent to Roger Dobson in 1989 after Roger and Mark Valentine put some of my Lovecraft art into their AKLO zine. Klein was praiseworthy which meant a lot at the time.

Tomorrow's eclipse may appear something like this, but only if you're very lucky.
This evening's hare had found the only patch of green in the dry, stubbled corn fields.
I wrote a feature on the artists & writers of the Order of the Golden Dawn for this month's Fortean Times -- the picture researchers has done themselves proud! See that Isabelle de Steiger illustration there. I vote you buy this mag.
The @wainwrightprize.bsky.social shortlist is out ... and Stone Lands is on it! AMAZING. Thank you everyone involved in making the book (especially Philip Harris who did the beautiful illustrations) and in selecting it – what an honour this is 💚
I'm absolutely devastated for colleagues at Jodrell Bank who found out this morning that funding for the UK's e-MERLIN radio telescope array will be terminated. This is a short-sighted move, to save a tiny fraction of the overall UK science budget. #SaveJodrellBank 🔭🧪 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Jodrell Bank's Lovell telescope faces axe in science cuts, BBC understands
Astronomers warn it would tear the heart out of UK science, and leave a generation untrained.

“What will the Lovell Telescope discover/enable 20 yrs from now? I can’t tell you, and that’s the point. It will either be something extraordinary that none of us can yet predict, or we will defund it and leave Cheshire with a rusting monument to unfulfilled potential and discoveries never made.” 🔭🧪

my friend Alex, archivist and librarian, discovered a nine-volume collection of the works of Arthur Machen in the Tasmanian State Library Archives. It's signed. I had to go and touch a book Machen had also. Here's my pics. I got a genuine thrill from this.
One of the cool things about the FRIENDS OF ARTHUR MACHEN is they issue a twice-yearly a hardback journal chock full of curiosities. And occasionally they publish books that are given away free to members (often later highly sought after by collectors). Join here: www.arthurmachen.org.uk/join/
