Oof. Google told Henk van Ess "if someone is unsure about an image, they can ask the Gemini app or use Lens in Search to see if the image was Al-generated." That works if I upload the original screenshot, but not if I crop out the TEXT THAT SAYS IT'S AI. (Funny with the crop it thinks this is Iran)

Screenshot of Google Images AI mode saying the AI image is AI because of "interface artefacts", literally text that says "experimental" and a "create image button". The button for control prompts is also visible, so Google picks up on that. Screenshot of Google Images AI mode on the altered image, in which I very crappily cut out the text that triggered it last time, and this time AI Mode says it's a satellite image showing destruction of military aircraft in Shiraz, Iran, with no mention that the image was made by Google's own AI.

The hosepipe “ban” is a perfect illustration of who Irish officialdom works for. You can’t water your own garden or wash your own car, but if you can afford to pay someone else to do it, not a problem. Business and the comfortable classes will not be inconvenienced, only the little people

This is the counter-piracy operation near Somalia, and this sort of mission creep (rather than standing up a new mission) is one of the main reasons people don’t trust the EU on defence. The counter-piracy operation has a UN mandate, false flag operations do not

In parallel, Member States this week have authorised Operation @EUNAVFOR ATALANTA to begin conducting flag verification boardings of suspected Russian shadow fleet vessels, in the same way Operation IRINI does. This decision further tightens the net. (3/3)

Soon the only place it’ll be legal to not wear hi-vis will be in the driver’s seat of a car. They’ll have a special Garda squad calling to your home demanding to see your stock of hi-vis. New borns will be wrapped in hi-vis blankets. They’ll make it illegal to sell any underwear that’s not hi-vis

The government has agreed to ban e-scooters for under-18s from next month, delaying a decision on an outright ban for now. jrnl.ie/7108045t

Doctrine: The Gaelic Christian Church was a massive pain in Rome's hole. It argued about EVERYTHING and tended to cite credible sources. It followed a Coptic North African model of isolation and vocation - not so big on spreading the word. It preached reincarnation. It had no input into law making.
