The horrific shooting at an In-N-Out in Idaho comes during the same week we mark seven years since the El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, mass shootings — both carried out with assault weapons.

America has a uniquely lethal domestic violence crisis. Nearly 6 million women in the US have reported having a gun used on them by an intimate partner, and easy access to a gun makes it five times more likely that a woman will be killed by an abuser.

No one should ever have to fear being shot in the sanctuary of their place of worship. I stand in solidarity with the Sikh, Oak Creek, and Wisconsin communities today on the fourteen-year mark of this hateful shooting. In their honor, we continue working to #DisarmHate.

Fourteen years ago today, a white supremacist fatally shot six people and wounded three others at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek. A seventh victim later died from his wounds.

Too many communities across America know this fear and trauma all too well. We demand that lawmakers put our safety first and stop cowering to the gun lobby. If they don’t work to protect us from gun violence, we can and will vote them out on November 3.

We know all too well what can happen when people who want to do harm get their hands on an assault weapon. The same assault-style rifles that have been used in the deadliest school shootings continue to be used to terrorize communities across the US — including this weekend in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Latino communities have long experienced the anti-immigrant beliefs that fuel this kind of hatred. Paired with easy access to guns, it becomes even more deadly. On the seven-year mark of this horrific, hateful shooting, my heart is with the people of El Paso. I work to #DisarmHate in their honor.

Seven years ago today, a white supremacist armed with a semiautomatic rifle targeted Latino people at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas. The shooting stole 23 people’s lives and wounded 22 others. The predominantly Latino city came together to say hatred and gun violence has no place here.

Our deepest gratitude to @governor.ny.gov Kathy Hochul for stepping in to protect public safety as the Trump administration continues its attack on federal gun safety regulations. Her leadership should inspire other governors to take action to protect their communities.

Pepper spray is no match for the high-powered weapons available to today's school shooters. Our kids deserve proactive solutions to keep them safe, not experimental technology that turns their schools into battle zones.

Rep. Andrew Clyde owns Clyde Armory, and is also one of the most vocal opponents of the ATF — the agency tasked with enforcing our gun laws. Now, his gun shop is embroiled in a federal gun trafficking case involving more than 40 guns allegedly purchased in Georgia and trafficked to Chicago.

The Seattle Center shooting is a stark reminder that the gun industry continues to fuel America’s gun violence crisis with deadly innovations. The shooting involved both a ghost gun assembled from a kit and a Glock pistol equipped with a machine gun conversion device, making it fully automatic.

Our hearts are with Mia Bieniemy, her husband Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, and everyone affected by this shooting. No family should have to endure gun violence in their own home. We must continue working toward solutions that help prevent shootings before they happen.

The man who shot and killed four people in midtown Manhattan one year ago today traveled more than 2,000 miles to commit the shooting. Weak federal gun laws and gaps between states’ laws made it possible for the shooter — who was from Nevada — to kill, wound, and traumatize countless New Yorkers.
