Holy shit, I found out how to get it to work. After trying Proton Hotfix, Experimental, Proton 11.0, DW-Proton Latest, Proton-EM Latest, and Proton-CachyOS latest, it turns out the one I had to pick was, uh Proton 10.0-4 Huh.

Adding "SteamDeck=1 %command%" as a launch option gets me to the "now loading" screen. If I don't have that, it crashes and spits out a weird error.

Rather than being doom and gloom about tokon I'll be assembling a list of indie fighters you can play on Linux this evening. Fuck tokon play indie fighters

Schwarzerblitz and Exploding Judo Federation were confirmed to work flawlessly both on Steam OS/Steam Deck and Ubuntu on PC, but only using the Proton compatibility layer. Unfortunately no native build, sorry😔
